“Tus raíces, tu voz, tu sanidad.”
(Your roots, your voice, your healing.)

About Me

Hi, I’m Alma, a first-generation Latina therapist passionate about creating a space where your culture—tus raíces, tus valores—are honored, respected, and celebrated. If you’ve ever felt the tension of living between two worlds, wondering if anyone truly understands that experience, you’re not alone—and you’ve come to the right place.

I know how meaningful it is to work with a therapist who validates your cultural background while helping you navigate life’s challenges. My goal is to offer a warm, compassionate, and culturally attuned space where you feel genuinely seen and heard.

My professional experience includes working in outpatient clinics, community mental health centers, domestic violence programs, and parenting support services—all of which have deepened my understanding of the complex, nuanced realities faced by individuals and families from diverse cultural backgrounds. Whether you’re facing anxiety, grief, or the quiet exhaustion of holding everything together for everyone else, therapy can be a space to breathe, heal, and reconnect with your strength. Together, we’ll untangle the stress, explore what’s been holding you back, and help you rediscover your voice.

My Approach

I use a flexible, evidence-based approach designed around your goals and values. Drawing from Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy (CBT), I help you challenge unhelpful thoughts and behaviors; with Mindfulness-Based Techniques, we cultivate emotional regulation; and through Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), we focus on acceptance and intentional, meaningful action. I also integrate EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing) for trauma recovery, Solution-Focused Therapy (SFT) to highlight your strengths, and Structural Family Therapy to explore the impact of family dynamics on your well-being.

Above all, my work is centered on creating a safe, nonjudgmental space where you can show up fully as yourself. I will meet you with compassion, curiosity, and care—and I will be by your side as you navigate the waves of your emotions, supporting you in taking the helm of your own emotional journey. Therapy with me is not just about reducing symptoms; it’s about helping you reconnect with your inner resilience and build a life that feels grounded and meaningful.
